i feeel ALOT better now. just had to get it out i guess.

Last night at work I caught a female Yellow Throated Warbler. She was hanging outside the doors and a kid was about to step on it.
I picked it up by hand, it gave a little struggle, not too bad. I put in a box with help from my BF. We let it sit in there and rest.
After work, we took out into the parking lot and opened the box to see if it can fly away (also in case it had a nest nearby)
She flew away like nothing bothered her to begin with.
Fly little birdie fly!

Thats right. as bad as my hearing can be, there are sounds that only barista's will hear
what kind of sounds?
well 2 come directly to mind.
first one is the steam wand.. Yes everyone can hear it. But it only speaks to barista's. If barista's ask the right question, it can go fairly quiet as opposed to that squeachy scream it makes upon its first release of its fury into that vat of white chaos. but that's not how it talks to us.
No.
It tells us how hot the milk is. I can tell exactly when to turn off the pressure simply by a certain level of scream. I can usually get it average of 160 degrees. usually.
second one is a little harder to explain as it literately is only heard by barista's.
Have you ever heard the meditative bowls? the one's where you bang with a special mallet and swirvle the mallet around the bowl to hold the resonance. it sounds absolutely beautiful.
this sorta has a similar effect.
There is a device that enters the coffee urn that pushes the coffee out the spout. Well when you empty an urn, you must remove this spout like device. there is a slight bit of liquid left in the urn (approx. 4 ounces)
its the process of removing the spout that makes this noise. it's very faint. but it's like..just loud enough to make the moment kinda intimate.
I'll swirl the device to knock off any loose hot liquid so it won't burn my fingers.
resonance.
there it is. My little 2 second moments of meditation as i watch the coffee splash into the huge sink that minus well be a full tub.
watching brown liquid swirl to the drain as gravity whisps it away from me and to it's next destination deep within the earth. this visual and auditory moment...sets me in a slight trance.
everytime i turn to grind more beans to restart the process i always close my eyes. to savor it a few moments more.
there. I'm sure there are others that I'm just so aware of that it goes right over my head.
But to know this sound, to create it, to have it move me in a way is inspiring. So much that i wanted my mindsayer's to know that it exists.
^^
my carpel tunnel flared up again last night.
now my thumb is numb.
